Nigel Taitt is a proud son of the soil whose life has been defined by service, discipline, and unwavering commitment to community. Born in Piccadilly, Signal Hill, and shaped by the vibrant spirit of Patience Hill's "Rockers," he has carried the strength and resilience of his district with pride throughout his life.
A standout student-athlete in his early years, Nigel went on to become a respected football captain, widely known as "Mighty Man." On and off the field, he demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and determination-qualities that would continue to define his public service.
Professionally, Nigel dedicated over 30 years of service as an Estate Corporal at the Port Authority, earning the respect of colleagues and community alike. His career was strengthened by training in criminal investigation, security operations, leadership, and crisis management, making him a proven professional with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
Beyond his formal career, Nigel's greatest impact has always been with people. As a coach, mentor, cultural supporter, and community organiser, he has worked tirelessly to uplift young people, empower families, and strengthen sport and culture throughout Signal Hill and Patience Hill. His leadership has always been rooted in presence, accessibility, and action.
