Biography
Farley Chavez Augustine is a community-rooted leader whose values, discipline, and vision are deeply shaped by his upbringing in Speyside. Educated at Speyside Anglican School and Bishop's High School, he carries forward a lifelong commitment to service, advocacy, and community development.
In 2005, Farley entered The University of the West Indies, Mona, where he pursued degrees in Linguistics and International Relations, while serving on the Student Guild Executive in his final academic year-an early expression of his passion for leadership and representation.
After completing his studies, Farley returned home to Tobago to serve. He worked as a Communications Officer in the Division of Education, Youth Affairs and Sport, and later as an educator at Speyside High School. During this time, he strengthened student leadership through the development of the student council and prefect system, created programmes to support first-generation tertiary students, and became a strong advocate for educators—championing the regularisation of contract teachers and improved pay for primary school teachers.
A firm believer in the power of community, Farley has served as Vice President of Sidey's Football Club, a longstanding member of the Speyside Village Council, and contributed to the formation of the Speyside Steel Sensations, the alumni arm of the Speyside High Steel Orchestra.
Elected in 2017 as Area Representative for Parlatuvier/ L'Anse Fourmi/Speyside, and re-elected in 2021, Farley continues to serve his district while also leading Tobago as Chief Secretary. His leadership is defined by accessibility, youth-centred governance, and a clear mission to make Tobago the greatest little island in the world.
As the Tobago People's Party candidate and continuing Area Representative for Parlatuvier / L'Anse Fourmi / Speyside, Farley Chavez Augustine remains committed to strong communities, empowered people, and a future shaped by Tobagonians, for Tobagonians.
